The single Platform for Smart Process Appreciations
About the SIPRNet Token Authentication Solution
Insert your government-issued, SIPRNet-enabled identity smart card into a card reader, and enter your authentication PIN to print, copy, scan or fax from a RICOH MFP connected to the SIPRNet computer network.
Authenticate users — including federal employees, contractors and vendors — before granting access to RICOH MFP functions.
Help address mandates — such as Homeland Security Presidential Directive-12 (HSPD-12) — to standardize on a better, more reliable form of identification.
Using the SIPRNet Token Authentication Solution
Insert a SIPRNet-enabled smart identity card into card reader attached to the MFP.
Enter up to a 16-digit authentication passcode (PIN) to unlock the MFP and begin performing document management tasks such as copying, printing and faxing after successful authentication.
Restrict scan-to-email access to approved address book users and embedded destinations to prevent anonymous scan-to functions and document distribution.
Register automatically in the MFP's address book after authentication to simplify how you share information with other authorized users, and to expedite the authentication process in the future.
Take advantage of a public key infrastructure (PKI) security certificate to verify cardholders' identities accurately.
Implementing this solution
Combine the SIPRNet Token Authentication Solution with compatible MFPs with print/scan kit, USB host interface and Java VM card options for robust, reliable authentication.
Customer-supplied items include: DoD security certificates, smart identity card, access card server and access card reader (tested smart card reader is the SCM Microsystems SCR3310v2).
Provide evidence of an individual's identity, helping to thwart unauthorized access, retrieval, capture or copying of sensitive documents and data when using RICOH MFPs.
Deploy powerful security controls — using 90meter's strong authentication technology — without compromising existing workflows and interfering with everyday document management tasks.
Boost efficiency and resources utilization by using the same smart identity card you already use to gain access to buildings, rooms and computer resources.
Tightly control access and reduce risk by specifying which MFP capabilities each authorized user can perform. For example, restrict scan-to-email for specific users or workgroups to reduce data exposure.
Help the right person receive the right information with Secure/Multipurpose Internet Mail Extension (S/MIME) technology. When using scan-to-email, senders and recipients digitally sign and decrypt emails for an added layer of protection.
