The Lanier MP C401 Color Laser Multifunction Printer (MFP) simplifies everyday tasks by combining fast color output, advanced scanning and optional faxing to help you share and deliver information. Output brilliant color prints at 42 pages per minute (ppm) on a wide range of media types to keep your projects moving at full speed, and do it in colorful fashion.
Print and scan more in less time
Need to capture and share documents quickly? Quickly turn hard copies into digital files and expedite multi-page scans of one- and two-sided originals via the 50-Sheet Automatic Reversing Document Feeder . Speed through print jobs while reducing overall paper use with automatic duplexing. Draw from the 650-sheet standard paper capacity, including a 100-sheet bypass tray that can accommodate envelopes and heavier paper stocks.
Increase supply without increasing footprint
Have a big job? Expand your paper capacity to 2,300 sheets by adding up to three optional 550-sheet-paper trays, for fewer workflow interruptions - without adding to the MFP's footprint. You'll reduce trips to replenish paper, and can set each paper source to supply different paper types and sizes to accommodate all of your commonly used stocks.
Stay organized on the fly
Use the 500-sheet exit tray to keep your output well-organized and easily accessible. Want to keep specific output like faxes or special print tasks separate? Add the one-bin tray as a separate destination for those jobs, making it simple to retrieve the right documents when you need them.

Accomplish more from afar with the multifunction MP C401's embedded web browser option. With it, save to and share information with the Ricoh Integrated Cloud Environment, directly from the multifunction device control panel. Also, take advantage of incredible mobile convenience with the Ricoh Smart Device Connector app, which lets you print from, or scan to, your smartphone or mobile device - without special drivers.

Fax Options
Fax Connection Unit Type M10
- Enables users to send and receive faxes on a Sub MFP via a Main MFP. This option is required on both the Main MFP that has the Fax Option Type M10 installed and on the Sub MFP(s) needing remote fax. Fax Option M10 is not required for the Sub MFP(s). Up to 6 Sub MFP units can be installed in a remote fax network.
Fax Option Type M10
- Installation required to enable fax services: 33.6Kbps, approximately 2 Second Transmission Speed, Standard JBIG. Standard 320 Pages Memory. Includes standard Internet Fax (T.37), LAN Fax, IP-Fax (T.38), Fax Forwarding to Email & Paperless Fax function.
Paper Tray & Optional Accessories
FAC49 Cabinet
- Recommended when no optional paper feed units will be used. Raises system to optimal height and provides businesses with a convenient option for the storage of supplies and paper.
- Can only be configured with the standard configuration.
Notes:
FAC49 Cabinet cannot be installed with any of these options: PB1000, PB1010, FAC50 Cabinet or FAC51 Cabinet.
FAC50 Cabinet
- Raises system to optimal height and provides businesses with a convenient option for the storage of supplies and paper.
- Can only be configured with the PB1000.
Notes:
FAC50 Cabinet cannot be installed with any of these options: PB1010, FAC49 Cabinet or FAC51 Cabinet.
FAC51 Cabinet
- Raises system to optimal height and provides businesses with a convenient option for the storage of supplies and paper.
- Can only be configured with the PB1010.
Notes:
FAC51 Cabinet cannot be installed with any of these options: PB1000, FAC49 Cabinet or FAC50 Cabinet.
One-Bin Tray BN1000
- Provides additional output tray to separate fax/print output from copy.
- Holds 100 Sheets.
Notes:
One-Bin Tray BN1000 cannot be installed with the MP C401SR engine.
Paper Feed Unit PB1000 (1 x 550 sheets)
- Provides an additional 550-sheets. Paper sizes up to 8.5" x 14". Paper weights up to 58 lb. Bond / 120 lb. Index.
Notes:
1. PB1000 must be installed with either the FAC50 Cabinet or PB1010.
2. PB1000 cannot be installed with any of these options: FAC49 Cabinet or FAC51 Cabinet.
Paper Feed Unit PB1010 (2 x 550 sheets)
- Provides an additional 1,100-sheets. Paper sizes up to 8.5" x 14". Paper weights up to 58 lb. Bond / 120 lb. Index.
Notes:
1. PB1010 must be installed with either the FAC51 Cabinet or PB1000.
2. PB1010 cannot be installed with any of these options: FAC49 Cabinet or FAC50 Cabinet.
Side Tray Type C400
- Installed on the right side of the device. Provides an additional 50-sheet output area.
Print/Scan Options
Browser Unit Type M10
- Used for Browser Features like ICE. Also required with HotSpot MFP Option Type S to enable HotSpot printing. Not compatible with all Web Sites.
Embedded HotSpot Option Type S
- Required to enable HotSpot printing. One year HotSpot printing subscription service.
File Format Converter Type E
- Required to convert formats and drag to desktop documents stored via Copy or Print mode.
Notes:
File Format Converter Type E cannot be installed with IEEE1284 Interface Board Type A, IEEE802.11a/g/n Wireless Interface Type M2 or or USB Device Server Option Type M12.
IEEE 802.11 Interface Unit Type O
- Allows the main unit to connect to a wireless network. Useful for temporary sites and locations where cabling is impractical.
OCR Unit Type M2
- This function embeds invisible texts on scanned images of PDF and enables users to search PDF files by arbitrary keywords. Searchable PDF files can be sent to email, folders and external media (SD/USB).
XPS Direct Print Option Type M10
- This option enables direct printing of XPS format documents.

Copy Data Security Unit Type G
- Prevents unauthorized copying of confidential documents.
Data OverwriteSecurity Unit Type H
- Only required for customers needing ISO 15408 Common Criteria Certification. Standard DOSS is not certified.
ESP XG-PCS-15D Power Filter
- The ESP XG-PCS-15D power filter provides multi-stage power protection as well as line conditioning. Our Advanced Technical Support (ATS) recommends the use of Power Protection products to minimize potential electrical interference with products.
Notes:
ESP XG-PCS-15D Power Filter cannot be installed with the ESP S1 Power Filter.
Memory Unit Type B 32MB
- Increases fax memory to 2,240 pages and fax resolution to 400 x 400 dpi.
Notes:
Fax Option Type M2 is required for this accessory.
Optional Counter I/F Type A
- Optional 20-Pin Interface used to attach external key counter or key card device.
